In a bid to curb the spread of the virus, the WHO has been cautioning against the use of hard currency and  encouraging the use of digital payments.  This move has prompted African governments to enforce measures aimed at  facilitating more cashless transactions.


Since the beginning of Covid-19 in South Africa,  89 percent of South Africans have been using contactless methods to pay for groceries and in only expected to increase in the coming months.



The research shows that  24% of South African consumers aged 18-24 are more likely to switch service providers when their  expectations are not met.
